About the Recipe

A juicy grass-fed beef burger patty topped with rich, melted cheddar cheese, served with a quick side of fresh mixed greens lightly dressed in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Ingredients

Burger:

  • 6-8 oz grass-fed ground beef (80/20 preferred)

  • 1 slice sharp cheddar cheese

  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Mixed Greens Salad:

  • 1½ cups mixed salad greens

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon high-quality balsamic vinegar (no added sugars or fillers)

  • Sea salt, to taste

Preparation

Grass-Fed Beef Burger:

  1. Shape Burger: Form ground beef into a burger patty. Season generously on both sides with salt and pepper.

Quick-Cooking Tip: Shape burger patties ahead of time and freeze individually with parchment paper in between for instant meal prep.

  2. Cook Burger: Heat skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook burger about 4-5 minutes per side until browned and desired doneness is reached.

  3. Add Cheese: In the final minute of cooking, place cheddar cheese slice on patty until melted.

Mixed Greens Salad:

  • Quickly toss mixed greens with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a pinch of sea salt.

Tips to Make it Even Easier:

  • Burger Shortcut: Make and freeze multiple patties at once. Quickly thaw and cook as needed.

  • Salad Convenience: Keep pre-washed greens ready in the fridge, and make an easy olive oil and balsamic dressing ahead of time in a squeeze bottle.

Quick & Simple Flavor Boost Options (Optional):

  • Truffle Aioli: Mix sugar-free mayo with a small dash of truffle oil. Spread lightly on burger.

  • Pickled Red Onions: Quickly pickle thin-sliced red onions overnight in apple cider vinegar (no sugar added), salt, and black pepper. Top your burger for tangy contrast.

  • Avocado: Mash avocado with lime juice and salt for a creamy topping rich in healthy fats.
