About the Recipe

A perfectly tender sirloin steak cooked in rich, flavorful butter, paired with crispy roasted Brussels sprouts. This hearty, satisfying dinner comes together quickly, offering bold, savory flavors with minimal fuss.

Ingredients

Butter-Seared Sirloin Steak:

  • 6-8 oz sirloin steak, room temperature

  • 1 tablespoon butter (grass-fed preferred)

  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Roasted Brussels Sprouts:

  • 1 cup Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter

  • Sea salt, to taste

Preparation

Roasted Brussels Sprouts (Start first):

  1. Preheat & Roast: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil or melted butter, sprinkle lightly with sea salt, and spread evenly on a baking sheet.

Quick-Cooking Tip: Cut sprouts into quarters for even faster cooking and crispier results.

  2. Cook: Roast Brussels sprouts for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crisp.

Butter-Seared Sirloin Steak:

  1. Season & Cook: Generously season steak with salt and pepper. Melt butter in skillet over medium-high heat. Cook steak about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust cooking time for desired doneness).

Quick-Cooking Tip: Bring steak to room temperature before cooking for even, quick results.

  2. Rest & Slice: Allow steak to rest at least 3-4 minutes before slicing to preserve juiciness.

Tips to Make it Even Easier:

  • Pre-Cut Brussels Sprouts: Buy pre-washed and trimmed Brussels sprouts to eliminate prep time.

  • Pre-Portioned Steaks: Purchase individually vacuum-sealed steaks, which thaw quickly and reduce prep and cleanup time.

Quick & Simple Flavor Boost Options (Optional):

  • Creamy Blue Cheese Drizzle: Blend melted blue cheese with heavy cream for a savory sauce perfect for steak or sprouts.

  • Roasted Garlic Butter: Roast garlic cloves in the oven with sprouts, then mash into butter and drizzle onto steak for rich flavor.

  • Parmesan & Lemon Zest Sprouts: Toss sprouts with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh lemon zest before roasting for a burst of savory freshness.

  • Umami Steak Glaze: Quickly simmer sugar-free coconut aminos with garlic powder and black pepper; brush onto steak after cooking.

  • Pecorino Peppercorn Butter: Soften butter, fold in grated Pecorino cheese and freshly cracked pepper, and melt gently over hot steak.

  • Smoky Paprika Sprouts: Sprinkle smoked paprika lightly onto sprouts before roasting for subtle, smoky warmth.
